5. Smoky Bear Campground: Gatlinburg
Located just off Highway 441, the Smoky Bear Campground is a convenient getaway for Gatlinburg visitors. The campground features 184 sites (1 site for every 1.5 acres), complete with tables, fire pits, picnic tables and benches.
The location is beautiful, with ample views of the Smoky Mountains, great hiking, swimming and biking. The campground is open year-round (no snow) and has easy access to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, both located just a short drive away.
The Smoky Bear Campground offers a variety of different camping options, including RV sites and tent camping. You can rent pontoon boats, tubes and jet skis on the river for relaxing river rides.
6. Anchor Down RV Resort
If you prefer pure luxury, then you’ll really appreciate Anchor Down located in Dandridge. How luxurious is it? We’re talking bathhouses, private bathrooms, fishing, boating and nearly any other amenity you can think of.
The resort is located right next to beautiful Douglas Lake. You can rent boats, golf carts and many more vehicles to get around and have fun.
Anchor Down has at least 170 large spaces for setting up your RV site. There are so many activities at this campground that you really never have to leave it to enjoy yourself. That said, no one in their right mind would miss visiting nearby Dollywood.

7. Clarksville RV Park and Campground
Clarksville RV Park and Campgrounds is situated about 45 minutes from Nashville just off the interstate. The campground is about 15 minutes from Fort Campbell and close to Civitan Park and Dunbar Cave State Park.
It is easily accessed by the interstate via exit #74, or via Campbellton Road. Visitors can choose to stay for one night, two nights, or a month’s stay.
They come from all over the country and some travel from overseas. The park includes two motel-style rooms, has water and electric hook-ups and pull-through sites with water and electricity.
What are the amenities? Besides free WiFi, the campground has Camper cabins, laundry facilities, restrooms, showers, a playground for the kids and many more comforts.
8. Pine Mountain RV Park
This particular review of Pine Mountain RV Park is based on two visits to the campgrounds. One in mid-May and the other in early-August. Both times the weather was extremely hot and summer was in full bloom.
The campgrounds had a lot of tents and pop-ups, but the sites were well taken care of and clean. The most popular campsites were the North and South View sites and the West View site.
The prices are extremely reasonable per night each and include full hookups. They also have a really nice general store for stocking up on supplies.
At Pine Mountain RV Park, you will find amazing scenery, hiking trails, pet friendly and of course, friendly and helpful staff.
The South View site was well laid out with 24/7 full hookups, a nice pool and a fire pit.
9. Smoky Mountain Premier RV Resort
Smoky Mountain RV Resort is located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is also known as Gatlinburg East / Smoky Mountain KOA.
While RVers prefer the Western side of the park, with all the big RVs and teepees, Premier RV Resort caters to the rest of us who like the Eastern side of the park better. One of the perks of staying here is that you can enjoy National Park Services so much that you won’t even notice you are there!
With a great selection of RV sites, Premier RV Resort also has one of the best pet-friendly policies in the area. Pets are welcome in every site as long as the pet is on a leash!
A huge pool area, playground for the kids, Wifi and cart rentals are just a few of the amenities here. Attractions include Dollywood, helicopter and motorcycle tours and much more.,
10. Fall Creek Falls State Park
Located in Tennessee’s picturesque Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Fall Creek Falls is known for its scenic waterfalls, lush forests and wonderful trails to hike through. The park is a great starting point for nature enthusiasts who want to check out the Appalachian Trail.
The campsites are large and spacious. We were amazed by the size of the campsites as well as how much elbow room we had. While some sites had tent pads, some sites had picnic tables and you can bring your own tent, too.
These sites allow dogs but they must be kept on a leash. They offer portable water fountains, restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and a dump station. Warmth is guaranteed on all sites if you choose a site with an electric hookup.
